Sorge Fonseca He is an Advisor to the Board of Directors of Ohuasi Investments SGOIC, SA, where he contributes to the definition of corporate and investment policies, ensuring compliance with the CMC and international governance standards.
With a career spanning over 15 years in the Angolan financial sector, Sorge has built a solid track record in corporate banking, capital markets, and oil and gas. He began his career at Banco Privado Atlântico, where he served as Business Center Coordinator in the provinces of Huambo, Bié, and Namibe, managing portfolios of SME and individual clients and ensuring compliance representation on the ground.
At Banco Prestígio, where he remained for almost eight years as Head of Corporate and Private Banking, he managed the Large Companies portfolio, collaborated with the Investment Banking Department, implemented bancassurance solutions, and was a member of the credit, liquidity, and ALCO committees.
At Fidelidade Companhia de Seguros Angola, he served as Deputy Director, coordinating four departments — Bancassurance, Corporate, China Business Unit, and Partnerships and Protocols.
At Banco Yetu, while serving as Deputy Director of Corporate, Institutional Clients, Private Banking, Oil & Gas and Mining, Sorge led the creation and development of the Oil & Gas, Energy and Mining department, one of his most remarkable achievements, developing innovative financing solutions for the sector and integrating the credit, liquidity and ALCO committees, as well as the Business, Products and Services Committee.
At Ohuasi Investments, he also served as Vice-President of the Supervisory Board, overseeing the company's activities and monitoring risk management and internal audit systems. In parallel, he works as a certified trainer for Client Portfolio Management and Client Centric modules at Everest Lda.
His academic background includes a Postgraduate Degree in Financial Markets: Portfolio Creation and Management from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, an Internal Control in Banking Program from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, and an Executive Master in Banking Management from Católica Porto Business School. He also holds Bloomberg certifications in BMF, BMC and ESG, and is a Certified Trainer by CENFOR.
Sorge is recognized for his ability to create and develop business areas from scratch, for his strategic vision in risk and portfolio management, and for his contribution to the modernization and professionalization of the Angolan financial sector.
